hunting for big fish, we are emptying our bladder.
Together with Jaap Scheeren, I've been exploring the no mans land in the city of Breda. Like in many other Dutch cities, large building projects have been put on hold for the time being. Big (investment) companies which own these terrains, would not allow us on their land. They don't want any publicity and don't want to discuss possibilities which are not profitable. In reaction to this attitude, we decided to work in the moment and react on the space, to create small adventures. No ambitious What if? stories, which feel like empty promises. Reality is the temporality.
This work is commissioned by Gebouw F, centre for architecture, urban development and landscape and presented in het Huis voor Beeldcultuur, Breda.
